What is Destination SUMMIT?

Destination SUMMIT is the short-term program of New Tribes Mission where people go to the mission field to help build a house, airstrip, or other projects and see what is like to be a missionary.

Why are we involved with Destination SUMMIT?

In 1987 we took a team of 18 young people to PNG with the ASSIST program of Destination SUMMIT.  We were able to rebuild our house that had burned and to show them what it was like to be a missonary.  Here are some of their questions:

From that group, five are now serving the Lord is various countries around the world.  What a blessing!!  We have been able to see how they were challenged by the needs of the people. 

Destination SUMMIT is one area where we can be involved in the great commission of going into all the world and preaching the gospel.  We want to challenge others to go and visit tribal areas of the world, help the missionaries, and ask God how they can fit into His work!

What do we do with Destination SUMMIT?

Each summer, the Lord has allowed us to be involved with short-term trips.  In the Summer of 1998, the Lord gave us the opportunity to take 20 young people to Papua New Guinea. It was an exciting time. Then, in the summer of 1999, three members of our 1998 team went back to Papua New Guinea on another trip.  Two girls from Pensacola, Hannah & Wendy, also went out for the first time.  The Lord taught each of them a lot throughout the trips.
