We didn't have a team this time, but were in Brazil for two weeks to attend the dedication of a Youth For Christ     

chapel which was built as a memorial to Barb's dad.  What a blessing!   We were able to spend time with Brazilian friends as well.  It was an awesome time.                                                                                                                                        

With Friends in Sao Paulo

The first week was with some close friends in Sao Paulo.  We had met them on previous trips and loved being with them.  Roque is now pastor of a church.   We were able to talk about our work with the Kuman people of Papua New Guinea in the morning and Dale preached in the evening service.  They took us around Sao Paulo and Barb was able to see some of the areas where she grew up.  Lots of memories!

Youth For Christ  
Then, we went to the  Youth For Christ headquarters for a dedication of the chapel that they have recently completed.  It will be called "The Don Phillips Memorial Chapel"  in honor of Barb's dad.  He started the Youth For Christ ministry in Brazil in 1951. 

Barb was asked to untie the ribbon allowing the crowd to go into the new chapel.  Then she

uncovered the sign that stands in front of the building.  It was a proud day for both of us as we

heard testimonies of people saved through the ministry of YFC over the last 55 years.

What a blessing!!!

Seeing Sights of Sao Paulo

The Lord allowed us to have a special bonus on the trip.  Roque drove us around Sao Paulo and we saw sights that she remembered from when she was a teenager in Brazil.  It was SO exciting for her as the memories came back of the good times as well as the locations where her dad's ministry was evident.  More blessings!!
